Prohibition declaration

Under The Firearms Act of 1968, it is an offence for someone who is prohibited by Section 21 of The Firearms Act of 1968 to have a firearm or ammunition in their possession at any time. Section 21 of The Firearms Act of 1968 applies to anybody who has been sentenced to imprisonment, youth custody, or detention in a young offenders’ institution for 3 months or more. The period for which they are prohibited depends on the length of the sentence. A sentence of 3 years or more automatically qualifies as a prohibition for life from possessing firearms or ammunition. A sentence of 3 months or more, but less than 3 years, automatically qualifies as a prohibition for 5 years from possessing firearms or ammunition from the day of their release. It is an offence for a person to transfer, let, hire, give, lend, or deal any firearms or ammunition to someone they know, or has reasonable grounds to suspect or believe, to be prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition by Section 21. The maximum punishment for non-compliance with The Firearms Act of 1968 is 10 years’ imprisonment.

By purchasing anything from CMARR, whether on-site or on-line, you declare you and anyone else involved with the booking, in even the smallest amounts, are not a prohibited person under Section 21 from possessing, using, or handling firearms/rifles or ammunition/pellets. For example, this would normally apply to convicted criminals who have served prison time for a criminal offence.

The terms and conditions of service and use

The name, description, price, and summary of events, packages, promotions, vouchers, coupons, gift cards, offers, deals, memberships, and extras displayed on the website and on-site are stated in good faith. However, it may occasionally be necessary to make some alterations to schedules, bookings, equipments, staff, or timings. For example, timings may be affected if the Rifle Range is closed on a day it is usually open due to lane maintenance or due to a Welsh or UK bank holiday, such as Christmas. These changes and alterations may be made without notice. Although, we will try to advertise any alterations on via the website, email, and/or Facebook page. If one of these alterations was something considered important to you, please get in touch as soon as possible prior to your arrival to check and avoid any undue and unnecessary disappointment.

Memberships are handled as voucher codes to enter a checkout. This is called a Membership Code. Each Membership Code is linked to a specific email address and must only be redeemed as per the membership details listed on the website. Any purchases made on the website must have payments sent in full before arrival. The prices advertised on our website and Facebook page will be kept as accurate as possible but may fall out-of-date accidentally.

No refunds are guaranteed for any purchased item. It is at the discretion of CMARR to give refunds, even if patterns of behaviour as to refunds have been established prior. Please contact us at least 48 hours before your booking is meant to start if you wish to cancel. CMARR hold the right to cancel your booking at any time for any reason without providing a refund. No full nor partial refunds can be offered if you are late, do not show, or if an event is cancelled.

You must arrive at least 15 minutes early for a safety briefing. We recommend leaving with sufficient time for traffic and parking. Handling firearms and ammunition can be dangerous. Please remain cautious, sensible, and vigilant at all times while on-site. All persons aged 16 or over are fully and solely responsible for their own safety and actions while on-site. CMARR is not responsible for your safety and actions. All children under 16 must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult over the age of 18 at all times. CMARR have the right to ask you to leave the site immediately at any time for any reason. We may take legal action if you do not leave. This is important to ensure the safety and comfort of our staff, users, and property. We politely ask that everyone treats staff, other users, the rifle range, and the equipment, especially the firearms, lanes, and ammunition, with respect and to act responsibly while on-site. There is a maximum of 2 persons per lane. You must only use the lane of which you have booked during the times you have booked. Prices do not change based on the number of persons occupying a lane.

If you or any member of the group admits to being, appears to be, actually is, or knowingly is under the influence of any medication that could impair your senses or cognition, drugs, or alcohol, or you are acting in a way staff and other users deem not responsible or sensible, or your judgment or cognition appears to be reduced for any reason by staff, you must not handle or possess a firearm or ammunition until such a time where you are deemed legally, socially, and ethically able and responsible by staff. Staff reserve the right to ask you to leave and to take legal action to remove you from the property for any reason, especially if they feel you may be a danger to yourself or others, or may attempt to commit a criminal or civil offence, or may be disrespectful or act irresponsible. Whether intentionally or unintentionally, if staff deem you unsafe to shoot, staff reserve the right to ask you to leave the site immediately or to exclude you from shooting without a refund.

Any accidental or purposeful damage, loss, or theft of any size, any belonging, or any cost to you or members of the group while on-site, on the way to the site, or on the way back from the site which may be linked to CMARR is the responsibility of the person who owns the belonging. CMARR take no responsibility for damage, loss, theft, or destruction of property.

It is recommended to wear ear and eye protection while shooting or in the rifle range. CMARR take no responsibility for any injuries, death, or trauma caused on-site. Shooting is dangerous and you enter the rifle range at your own risk.

While on-site, you agree to follow all the instructions given by staff, to follow all the rules given in these terms and conditions, to follow the instructions given in the safety briefing, to act responsibly for the full time, to be responsible for any children under 16 in your care, and to follow up with staff about understanding a rule or instruction until you fully understand. You must not participate or book if you have been lawfully or legally denied the access to, possession of, or purchase of firearms or ammunition. You must not use a firearm or ammunition while depressed, suicidal, impulsive, or homicidal. The results of using our equipment on-site are not the responsibility of CMARR. You must not use a firearm or ammunition to commit any civil or criminal offence. You must not enter the live fire area while others are firing and without due caution or checks.

You must receive permission from a member of staff, all users who are on-site, and all adults over 18 responsible for any child under 16 who is on-site to record audio, video, or photos on-site for any reason. You must not use an air rifle with over 12 pounds of pressure.

While writing this, there is some evidence to suggest shooting firearms when pregnant could damage the hearing of unborn babies. Therefore, it is strongly discouraged for pregnant women to participate in shooting or if spectating, from entering the immediate live fire area. Under UK law we cannot ask customers if they are pregnant at the time of booking, so you should be aware that those who choose to participate in our shooting events whilst pregnant do so entirely at their own risk.

All members of the group must be aware that shooting, like other sports, will make some physical demands. While staff will endeavour to work around any physical restrictions and disabilities where possible, each group member is expected to be in good general health. If any member of the group has any doubts about their physical ability to undergo their chosen event they must consult their doctor before making a booking. You must sit out if you have any doubt as to your physical ability to use a firearm or there is any reason why you may suspect it could cause you harm.

You will not encourage any person, whether or not involved with any aspects of any shooting sport, to act in any way to the detriment of any shooting and that as far as it is may lie within their power, authority or influence they will not suffer or permit any person, organisation or company to act in such a manner.
